DESKRIPSI
High voltage training course participants learn how to manage risk and develop safe working practices .At the end of the course the participants will be aware of the risks of working with high voltage equipment on board, the dangers of electrical hazards, how to avoid them and how to minimize the consequences of electrical accidents.

- Switchgear origin and types
- Safe working procedures

- Assignment of qualified personnel to carry out maintenance and repairs
- High voltage electrical equipment testing methods
- Performing test of insulation resistance and polarization index
- High voltage equipment maintenance
- Taking remedial actions necessary during faults
- Carrying out a switching and isolation procedure on marine high voltage safety documentation
DETAILED TEACHING SYLLABUS Learning objectives:
- Basics knowledge of electrical – (1h)
– general concept of IMO, SOLAS, ISM, STCW - Electrical power systems – (1h)
– the necessity for high voltage industrial plant - Protection of electrical power system – (2h)
– generators, motors, transformers, distribution switchboards, circuit breakers, protection relays, drives - Switchgear origin and types – (3h)
– explanation of definitions used with high voltage systems - Safe working procedures – (3h)
– basic steps to be taken for issue of a permit to work - Protective devices – (2h)
– function and principle of operation - High voltage electrical equipment testing methods – (2h)
– introduction with high voltage testing equipment (primary injection, secondary injection, conductance test, electrical pressure test, insulation
– resistance test, function test) - Transformer testing – (1h)
– introduction with transormer testing methods (open circuit test, short circuit test) - High voltage equipment maintenance – (1h)
– introduction with high voltage equipment types of maintenance (fault, post fault and preventive maintenance)
– assignment of qualified personnel to carry out maintenance and repairs) - Work on simulator – (4h)
– reading and understanding of schematics and practical application on training center simulator (carrying out a switching and isloation procedure on marine high voltage safety documentation)
– taking remedial action necessary during faults
– SF6 and vacuum breakers operating principles
