ABSTRACT
Kilns are an essential part of the industrial process, which, by definition, require heat treatment, often at high temperatures. Although modern kilns often have sophisticated electrical systems to control the firing temperatures, pyrometric devices are also frequently used. In the cement manufacturing process, kiln is the main machine. Kiln maintenance and repair are critical activities in ensuring the efficiency of the cement manufacturing plant. If not maintained properly, kiln runtime will be reduced, causing substantial financial losses. This course is designed to give participants a thorough understanding of cement manufacturing processes and enable them to make intelligent decisions affecting quality and production efficiency. Rather than focusing on the specifics of daily kiln operation, the sessions emphasize the much larger picture of how to maximize kiln efficiency.
