OVERVIEW
This course will cover the practical applications of distributed control systems. Included is the relationship between PLC and the DCS. Further included is the importance of Human Computer Interfaces (HMI) and advanced control strategies, which would not be possible without the application of a computer. This course is non-specific but will include a number of manufacturers DCS systems, such as Honeywell TDC rage. Each delegate will receive a comprehensive course manual. The concept of field buses is introduced with some study of Foundation of assets management as a tool for proactive maintenance systems.
After completing this course, participants will be able to understand the principles of maintenance and troubleshooting of DCS hardware and software, diagnose DCS component status, and also manage and respond to process interface including Operation and Monitoring.
OBJECTIVES
The purpose of this training is to give a best practice on a solid understanding of the architecture and operation of Distributed Control Systems (DCSs), ability to design the overall DCS and process control system, improved process performance for your plant, understanding of the key ergonomic issues in design of operator displays, apply advanced control strategies to your plant control system and to get more effective use of your existing DCS process control capabilities.
